Driveways
We lay block paving and tarmac drives, and renovate tired ones. A drive is only as good as what is under it, so the groundwork matters: digging out, building a solid base, getting the levels and drainage right, then laying the surface. Customers have told us we did a thorough job and cleaned up properly afterwards.
If you want a drive for two cars, or to widen an existing opening, tell us what you have in mind and we will talk through the options.
Patios, slabs and bases
We lay patios and slabs, and level and prepare bases for summerhouses and garden walls. Whether you want a neat patio outside the back door or a firm base for a garden building, the preparation is what keeps it flat and stable.
Before you pave
A few rules are worth knowing before you pave a front garden. If you are paving more than 5 square metres at the front of your house, you will usually need permeable (porous) surfacing, or a way for rainwater to drain to a lawn or border, rather than letting it run onto the road. If your drive needs a new vehicle crossing over the pavement, that normally needs permission from the local highways authority.
We can talk you through what applies to your property when we visit. For listed buildings and conservation areas, there may be extra rules.
